Made my first GR toon last night, probably wont be able to play it much cause i lag a shit ton (called ISP today they said a couple of months which is awesome since they told me a couple of months a couple of months ago...ass hats...) I was trying to get softcapped S/L but couldn't quite make it there. I posted this build on the main forums to try to get some feed back but no takers. Any suggestions are welcome

Well looks like a solid build for a lvl 50 toon but if you take Taunt as you lvl up you will learn more about that power and be more skilled at its use which is useful for a fire build brute/tank. However if you just use the fire aura as your taunting and you're by yourself most of the time it wont be a problem. The problem arrises with team players who will get in the mix and expect you to be able to pull enemies off of them. (controllers/ blasters/ defenders)


I'd say taunt at lvl 18- 26 or so if you plan on team playing. The other thing you could do is have that as the alternate build to experiment with.

alright. It is a very tight build especially from the teens to the 30s. I had trouple fitting everythign i wanted it and still didnt get some things ( wanted gloomb but didnt know what to get rid of). Anyway i will definitely play around with taunt and see what i can do.

My advice? Don't worry about taunt on a brute. Brutes are designed to hold aggro, yes, but they are not designed to hold it like a tank. A brute's purpose is to put "warheads on foreheads" as it were. Shit loads of damage in a short amount of time to make things dead. You can skip taunt and take something more useful.

Yeah, taunt on a brute is about as useful as tits on a boar hog.

The few guys who replied to my thread on the other forums also said I should not be building so much for defense. They said even with all the added defense i would not be able to tank the LRSF because of psi damage. I am thinking maybe i build more for recharge? Idk, i r not gud at broots

I have been thinking and believe I am going to turn this into a claws/elec and run a fire/fire brute as well, idk yet though

I am ordering my new PC today, I got a job yesterday yay!. I don't know how much you are trying to spend but you should check out some of the ones I posted. All are 1599 and are solid rigs. I am going with the ibuypower machine myself.

yeah ordered a new pc last night, hope I like it. Likely will upgrade the power supply and the video fairly quickly but should be a nice system compared to this older pc from 2004.

Going to Windows 7 64 bit. I should be fine cause I can still use this older PC for back up purposes and stuff.
